NATIONAL SENIOR HEALTH AND FITNESS DAY
YMCA and Hospital partner to offer activities
For the past 16 years, thousands of older adults across the nation have been participating in activities on the last Wednesday in May, to celebrate National Senior Health & Fitness Day.
This year, the Sunbury Branch of the Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA and the Sunbury Chapter of Senior Circle, sponsored by Sunbury Community Hospital, will join forces to offer activities for local seniors. On Wednesday, May 26, 9am-12pm, seniors are invited to the YMCA. The YMCA will have information available on their senior programs and fitness classes. The Senior Circle Chapter will have information available on membership and upcoming events. Staff from Sunbury Community Hospital will also be on hand to offer free cholesterol screens and to discuss nutrition information. This event is free and open to all seniors in the area.
The common goal for National Senior Health & Fitness Day is to help keep older Americans healthy and fit.
