HEALTHY COOKING DEMONSTRATION PLANNED
Presentation part of a series aimed at healthier lifestyle
For the next two months, members of the Sunbury Community Hospital Healthy Woman program, and women in the community can participate in a series of monthly programs aimed at helping women to live a healthier lifestyle. The next presentation in the series will be held Tuesday, May 25 at 6pm in the ground floor conference room of the hospital.
In this presentation, Chad Stroup, Director, Nutritional and Environmental Services and Jill Campbell, RD, LDN, Clinical Dietitian, will offer a healthy cooking demonstration, discuss healthy cooking tips and choices, and have various nutrition stations available for hands on learning.
“It is never too late to start eating healthy and changing your habits,” says Campbell. “With a few changes to shopping and eating routines, you can improve the health and well-being for yourself and your family, without a large drain on your wallet.”
A survey of the Healthy Woman membership was conducted last year and found that the topic of most importance to participants was eating healthy. “We have developed a series of presentations in conjunction with the lose to win program, where each month, women can learn about a topic from a professional and also learn how our three participants are learning to incorporate that topic into their daily lives,” says Emily Kissinger, Director, Marketing/Public Relations.
