Employees of the Year Recognized

EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR RECOGNIZED

Three employees at Sunbury Community Hospital & Outpatient Center have recently been honored for their valuable contributions to the Hospital.  Jeanne Rozowski has been named Employee of the Year; Elizabeth Bendas has been named Clinical Manager of the Year; Bruce Marion has been named Non-Clinical Manager of the Year.

Jeanne Rozowski, of Sunbury, Lead Surgical Technician, has been employed at Sunbury Community Hospital for 30 years.  She is a member of many hospital committees, including the FOCUS committee, physician/nurse excellence committee, and the employer of choice committee.  She is also a past recipient of the “Right Hand” Award.

“Jeanne jumps in with whatever is needed, and does it extremely well,” says Rosemary Proctor, Chief Nursing Officer.  “She has the respect of physicians, administration, surgical services staff, and other hospital departments.”

Elizabeth Bendas, RN, of Kulpmont, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer/Director, Emergency Services, has been employed at Sunbury Community Hospital for more than 20 years.  She actively volunteers to represent Sunbury Community Hospital in various community events and is a past recipient of the Manager of the Year Award.  Throughout her tenure at Sunbury, Liz has held a variety of staff and management positions, including staff nurse, and most recently, Director, Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance.  Earlier this year, she moved into her role as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer/Director, Emergency Services.

“Since Liz assumed the management responsibility in the Emergency Department, we’ve seen an upswing in many of our ER benchmarks,” says Rosemary Proctor, Chief Nursing Officer.

Bruce Marion, of Shamokin Dam, Director, Education, has been employed at Sunbury Community Hospital for five years.  Within the hospital he is a member of the Caring Heart customer service team, the reward and recognition committee, and the standards committee.  Outside the hospital, Bruce is actively involved with his church and other community organizations.

“Bruce can take a difficult situation and think it through critically, come up with a workable action plan, and set about making the plan a reality.  I have seen Bruce under pressure and he always performs to a high standard,” says Rick Schroeder, Administrator, Ancillary Services.

Chartered in 1895, Sunbury Community Hospital and Outpatient Center is an acute care facility serving Sunbury, Selinsgrove, Northumberland and the surrounding communities. With a strong emphasis on community, the hospital is committed to the health and well-being of those in the region.
